Inspiration

I believe it is extremely important to live every day with passion. Positivity is something I practice daily and I am always looking for things that inspire me in my photography and in the way I live my life.

I look to nature when I need to refocus and find inspiration. I take my camera with me when I go for walks. I fill my Instagram page with photos of my herb pot, fresh produce and home cooked food, flowers beautiful sunsets and travel photos. When I find myself feeling bored, I go look for beautiful things to photograph. I'll do weird things to get the perfect shot (like wade through swampy lake water to photograph a water lily). It never gets old and I love to share my photographs with anyone who will let me.

My other inspiration comes from the people around me and my own personal love story and wedding experience. My high school sweetheart, Andrew, proposed to me while we were studying abroad for three months together in Europe during college. We were in Verona, Italy, on Juliet's Balcony in front of a bunch of our friends when he took me by surprise and got down on one knee. :)
On September 04, 2015, we got married at the Gale Mansion in Minneapolis with 130 of our closest friends and family! We planned the entire wedding ourselves and I fell in love with the process and the excitement; looking back at my own wedding photos and reliving the experience fuels my passion for every wedding I photograph. Andrew is now my second shooter, videographer and companion for many of my weddings!
We are also the proud parents of a cockapoo puppy named Nutmeg. She is often the subject of many of my photos and is the reason for lots of laughter, joy and entertainment in our household. If Andrew and I rush off after we are finished photographing a wedding it is because we are anxious to get home to our pup!

While I am happiest at home, I love to travel. I love it. I have been to California, Florida, Colorado, Illinois, Mexico, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, The Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and many places in between. Every new place is my favorite place and I get so much inspiration from experiencing new cultures.
